Saki - Smithfields, London

The project involved the fitting out of a clean shell at ground and basement levels in Smithfield, just yards from the famous London meat market.  Air conditioning and electrical works were also undertaken by Phelan as part of an integrated services package.

Saki is the first independent authentic Japanese themed sushi and sashimi restaurant in London.  The project married cutting edge design, with crisp interior finishes, electro-voltaic glass, stainless steel and other contemporary materials to create a light bright atmosphere in a space which had no natural daylight.

Once again, Phelan’s expertise in operating within confined city centre sites came into play with careful co-ordination of deliveries and ensuring the immediate integration of joinery and other fragile elements into their final position using lean construction techniques.
