What did the project involve?

Crockfords in Mayfair is the UK’s oldest Gentleman’s Club and a listed building throughout. The exclusive casino and club offer members the chance to play in a high-class, majestic gaming environment.

Phelan were engaged to completely refurbish and reorganise the buildings once Genting had taken over the neighbouring spaces. The venue, which had been first established in 1828 by William Crockford, was remodelled to recreate a club of splendour and elegance fit for royalty, diplomats and the wealthy clients.

What challenges did the project team face?

The works were carried out over an 18-month period whilst the casino remained open 24 hours a day. Due to the fact it was fully operational throughout, Phelan took upmost care to ensure visitors to the venue were unaffected by the refurbishment work, and that their safety was considered at all times.

What stand-out features did the project boast?

The quality workmanship and fixtures of this refurbishment provided the most elegant, discreet and unique surroundings in which to enjoy first-class gaming and dining. Our exceptionally high standards of service and workmanship provided gaming surroundings that Crockfords felt were second-to-none.
