New Apprentice Starts on Site

As part of the bid to win the Colchester Creative Business Centre project Phelan Construction committed to taking on a new apprentice. Phelan Construction is always actively seeking ways in which we can offer our clients added value in what we do. A new apprenticeship was the perfect solution in this case as it not only aids Colchester Borough Council in their efforts to support and develop the local employment market, particularly for young people, but it also provides Phelan with an opportunity to grow some new local talent whilst supplementing our workforce on the project at the same time.

17-year-old Thomas Williamson from Halstead is currently studying for his NVQ Level 1 in Carpentry at Colchester Institute and has today started on site at the Colchester Creative Business Centre. Tom’s interest in carpentry stemmed from three generations of carpenters before him and we look forward to helping him grow in his chosen career.
