Phelan are experts at delivering high quality hotel fit-out and refurbishment projects and we are always proud to show off our completed projects, however for a change we wanted has been working in the hotel industry for some time now and the end result is always impressive, however we wanted to show a different angle, with a look at a live Phelan managed project; Apex Hotel.
When the existing Barristers chambers at 49/50 Fleet Street became vacant Apex Hotels, owners of the adjacent Apex Temple Court Hotel, decided to take over the Ggrade II listed building and convert it into additional rooms and front of house areas.
The building falls within the Inner Temple Conservation Area therefore simple, contemporary interventions will preserve and enhance the original character of this stunning Grade II listed property.
The project itself will see the upper floors being converted into 20 stylish new rooms, whilst the existing ornate entrance hall is being converted into a new bar and restaurant. Current progress on site can be viewed in the below gallery.
Now 23 weeks into the 44 week programme Phelan’s expert project team are working closely with the hotel management, Ian Springford Architects, Thomas & Adamson (QS), RSP Consulting Engineers and Alan Baxter Ltd to ensure successful delivery of the project. Andrew Taylor, Project Director for Apex commented;
The project team consisting of Stephen Penn, Contracts Manager, Dan Wicks, Project Manager, Haki Koka, Site Manager, QS Chris Morris plus the rest of our site based team have also all been commended internally for their excellent H&S performance on the project, with an average H&S score of 80% (4% above the company average and 5% above the industry average).
With promising progress on the project thus far, we look forward to sharing the final outcome later in the year. the next few months!
